All we ask is for your parents to pay a $1 convenience fee if they purchase something through our registration process, directory, or store modules. This $1 is charged to the purchasing member. It does not come out of your profit. We’ve been careful to only charge the fee on a per transaction basis and NOT on a per item basis (that’s a good thing). Of course, credit card purchases also have a transaction processing fee of 2.9% + .30 that goes to the credit card processing company (WePay). PTOffice relies on its convenience fee from online purchases to help make this software free for all PTOs and PTAs. As such, PTOffice requires a Premium Support contract if you wish to link or list or advertise (in any way, shape or form) an external ordering or payment processing system.

We offer optional ‘Premium Support‘ that allows you to call or email us with any troubleshooting needs you may have for $499. Premium Support also allows you to place links, documents, instructions, etc. that reference other payment collection methods such as order forms, links to other programs that collect payments, etc. on your PTOffice hosted website.
Our free version of PTOffice does have ads in various sections of the software. You can be sure we do not allow “pop-up” or “peel back” ads that stretch across your entire screen. Those are just plain annoying! For those customers who wish, we do have an ‘Ad Free’ version for those customers who would rather pay a small fee for an ad free experience – pricing for that version is $199/yr.
We also give you the ability to turn your website into a fundraiser! Many of our schools use our ‘local business advertising’ option to make upwards of $1,000 a year by selling ad space to the left of the online directory search bar to local business’! We recommend selling each space for roughly $100 during back to school night when business owners are present and excited to be involved. We charge a $10 fee when you upload the business card sized image. Each image can also have a link to the business’ website if desired. We do not place advertisements on your behalf in this location.
We try to keep as much profit going back to your school as possible and we hope you agree with how we go about doing this. After all, this is pretty much the point of any PTO or PTA, isn’t it?
Yes. All PTOs have access to our online support articles and in-product tutorials. If you’d like a more personal touch, we also offer a Premium Support option that basically provides you with a live person to manage all things PTOffice for you!
Yes! You can decide what each administrator has access to by creating roles and assigning rights to each role. This makes it super easy to manage all your administrators with the click of a few buttons!
Yes. It does require a Premium Support subscription, but you are allowed to upload an order form or link to another ordering or payment system on your PTOffice hosted website. Again, it does require a Premium Support subscription in order to do this.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Your privacy and security is extremely important to us. PTOffice will never sell your member information. If a member chooses to register to PTOffice, we do add them to our customer email database for potential contact, but we would never give anyone else this information. In fact, any emails your members might receive from PTOffice have a very clear header describing why they are receiving our email and how to permanently remove themselves from the mailing list.
Parent portals are the means for parents to register to your system and update their profiles. It is what allows you to collect and maintain up to date profile information on each and every member of your school. Without a parent portal, your members cannot update their contact information or access security sensitive areas such as an optional online directory search toolbar.
Can I keep my website address if I switch to your website?
Of course! If you already have an established website for your organization you can easily ask your domain host provider to do what is called a URL Redirect. It takes less than 2 minutes to do and we’re more than happy to help you with the process. Then, whenever someone types in the old URL, they will get automatically redirected to your free hosted site with PTOffice. All PTOffice URLs begin with “http://ptoffice.mjssoftware.com/mywebsite/”.
Is my information safe?
PTOffice uses one of the world’s leading server systems to manage all our data securely. Data protection is essential in our line of work and we have multiple levels of protection which we use to keep your information safe and out of harms way. Our protection comes in multiple waves – protection at the server level (our server farm), protection at the account level (your organization), and protection at the user level (your personal information).
Is there a mobile app?
PTOffice is built on a new type of technology called “adaptive technology”. This technology automatically re-formats the screen to display perfectly given the device being used – PC, tablet or smart phone. This eliminates the need for a specific app to be built for the various mobile platforms and helps reduce the cost of the overall system for our customers.
